the blackberry vodka is finished!

there she is! one 750ml bottle of vodka, one whole container of blackberries from the grocery, and 1/4 cup of sugar. the sugar isn't so much for sweetening it, rather to help pull the juice from the berries.

this must be the 9th or 10th bottle of Blackberry vodka i've made, and yet i continue to make one silly mistake: when you cut the berries for the vodka, the juice will slightly lower the alcoholic content of the bottle, simply because we're adding liquid. so, thusly, the bottle was almost completely frozen when i took it out of the freezer! the easy way to fix this is to add a few shot's worth of vodka to the bottle afterwards. so it's always a good idea to keep some spare vodka around when you're making it!

tasting, sadly, will have to wait a week. i'm working all week, and plus i'm getting some bonus taste testers in the form of my next door neighbors! i'll post some pictures (and maybe video?) when we do.

lastly, i need a flavor to do for my next batch! my suggestions so far are: cucumber, lime, cilantro, or combinations between these. or... skittles vodka, maybe? give me comments if you have any suggestions!

first post!

thanks for stopping by! my name is Jonathon, and as you may have guessed I will be making vodka infusions either weekly or bi-weekly.

my first batch is 750ml of blackberry vodka, and we will be taste testing it this friday. as a rule, I will probably always use a 750ml bottle of friis brand vodka, as it is both cheaply available and from past experiences, very good!
any suggestions for future flavors will always be considered!

so, thanks again for reading and I hope you come back soon!
